A beautiful and historic villa for a memorable holiday. The house is adequately equipped and luxurious in places. One of the four bedrooms has a fan rather than air conditioning which was fine for us but you might want to know that if that is important to you (there are good shutters). The grounds are rustic and there are lots of places to sit. The location is good for day trips. Don’t miss the walk to the medieval village at the top of the hill or the gelateria at the bottom (best gelato we had in Italy and very cheap!). The owner lives in an adjourning property but gives you complete privacy and only comes when assistance is required or if you would like to visit the chapel. The biggest stress of our visit was that Belvilla provided the wrong address and house number. We were already arriving quite late and it was very difficult to then find the property by the pictures on the listing in the dark and our mobile signal didn’t work. When we finally found it there was also no welcome basket of food or drinks and the shops were shut. I assume Belvilla have now corrected their information.
